These are photos that I have taken on my various dives. My primary purpose in taking photos is to capture what I've seen so that I can learn to identify species when I get back to dry land.
For the species id's seen here, I owe a great deal of thanks to many helpful people. Any correct identifications are thanks to: Luke Hunt (many common invertebrates), Freya Sommer (lots and lots of common and obscure invertebrates... and some fish too), Dave Osorio (most of the fish). All of the incorrect identifications are my own fault.
If you see a picture where you think I might have mis-identified something, please, please send me an email so that I can correct it. I'm trying to put a form on each page to make it easy to send me this info, but until then, please include the dive it is from and the picture name.
Note: I have recently upgraded my camera gear and am trying to sell
my old unit. Most of the pictures on this page were taken with my
old Tetra 3030, and it can be yours... check
here for details.
All photos on these pages are copyright Michael O'Donnell unless otherwise noted. If you'd like to use a picture for a class, a presentation or just to put on your wall, please send me an email and I'll gladly grant permission. In the unlikely event that you'd like to use one for some commercial use, please email me and we'll work something out.
These photo web pages are created with Photothumb, which is a really nifty program for doing this kind of stuff. I add the descriptions to the IPTC portion of the jpeg files using PixVue which is also really nifty, plus free. Let me add a shameless plug for my favorite piece of freeware, Irfanview, which is the best thing I've found for looking at pictures.
